How to use the Library
Welcome to the BRTK Library!
The library of Siófok was established in 1947, and since then it continuously grows its services and collections. We have almost 200 000 documents (books, periodicals, audiovisual documents) in our collections, and we provide various services, programs, events and exhibitions for our readers and visitors of all ages and nationalities.
Most of our documents are in Hungarian, but we have a smaller collection of intercultural books, magazines and audio documents. If you would like to know more about the intercultural collection, please visit these pages: Books, Periodicals and Media, or our digital catalogue.
The documents can be read in our reading areas without a Reader Pass, or can be borrowed with a full membership of the Library. To know more about using the reading areas, please visit these pages: Opening hours, Floor plans, The Rules of Using the Library.
A full membership of the Library needs a Reader Pass, which can be obtained in person at the Library’s administration desk. To know more about the registration for a Reader Pass, please visit this page: Register for a Reader Pass.
Our events are in Hungarian, but some of the programs of the Children’s section can be enjoyed even by those who doesn’t speak Hungarian. For getting to know more about the events and activities for children, please visit this page: Children’s section.
In the BRTK Library, we provide other services besides reading areas and lending documents, such as literature service, IT services, printing and copying services, most of which doesn’t need a Reader Pass.
