Adult section

The Adult section is ont he first floor of the building. you can reach the library on a staircase from the Main Square leading up to the first floor, or you can take the elevator. In the Adult section you can find the administration desks, the adult books collection, the Local History Collection, reading areas, a research room, the media collection, periodicals, a computer area and a room for events.

1. Administration desk: Here you can register for a Reader Pass, borrow books, and get help and information from our colleagues about our services and how to use the Library.
2. Inspirational bookshelves: Here you can find our new books and book recommendations which change frequently.
3. Lockers and toilets: You can place your coat, bags, umbrellas into lockers whith keys, and you can use the toilets in this area.
4. Book collection and documents from the Local History Collection: In this area, you can find books that are available for borrowing, books that can be read only in the Library, and some books and other documents which are part of the Local History Collection.
5. Research room: Those who are allowed by the director to do research in our Library, can use the research room.
6. Reading areas: These areas can be used to read, do research or study.
7. Media collection: Here you can find music CDs, audiobooks and vinyl records.
8. Literature service desk: Here you can get help and information from our colleagues about our collections, the digital catalogue, where to find the book you are looking for, and they can also give you recommendations on a certain topic.
9. Computer are: We have computers for our visitors, which they can use for Internet access or research. For using computers we charge a fee.

11. Periodicals and a reading area: Here you can find the freshest publications of newspapers and magazines mostly in Hungarian, but we have English, German and French periodicals too.

Children’s section

The Children’s section takes place on the 2nd floor of the building. You can reach it on a staircase or by elevator. On this floor, you can find an administration desk, our books and periodicals for children and teenagers, an activity and event room, a large terrace and the offices.

1. Admministration desk: Here you can register for a Reader Pass for the Children’s section for free, and you can get information about this section’s services, rules of use and you can also ask our colleagues for book recommendations..
2. Books for children and teenagers: Here you can find our books for children and teenagers. Most of the books can be borrowed, and some of them can only be read in the Library.
3. Computer area
4. Activity and event room: Most of our activites and events for children take place in this room.
5. Terrace
6. Changing area and toilets: Readers of the Children’s section can leave their jackets, bags and other belongings in the changing area.
7. Offices: Here are the offices of our colleagues.

Storage space

In the basement, there is our storage space which houses books and other printed items in a warehouse environment.
